A 4th former steps member takes the plunge into reality TV this summer - Claire Richards is not going to be locked in a house with 10 equally desperate has beens, nor will she be having cameras follow her every move and, sadly, she will not be having another crack at the charts with washed up members of hear’say, atomic kitten or the Spice Girls.

There have been murmurings for a while that Claire was about to head back to the limelight and the smart money was on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ alas Claire will be dishing up her specialty dish ‘Pasta A La Clara’  on Celebrity Masterchef!

Here’s Claire’s last public cooking appearance on “Steps: The Video”

…on a jet plane…

Jesse McCartney. Ringing any bells? Nope? None whatsoever? Nah it’s ok. He probably wouldn’t. Jesse was one of these ‘Middle of the Road’ type american people who liked to produce inoffensive prock. Wasn’t overly exciting, but if you bought it you wouldn’t feel like you’ve wasted too much money. In theory. He’s also the bloke who co-wrote Bleeding Love (AHHHHHH THAT’S HOW I KNOW HIM! etc) so he doesn’t ever really need to work again. But he feels like it - what a trooper.

He’s produced this little ditty:

Quite good, innit? Obviously, after a couple of years of being all sensitive and emotional, he needs to just make sure he’s still all manly with his manliness and such. As illustrated in his video, he has:

  • Taken his shirt off
  • Rolled around with a lady
  • Worn a necklace in a way that accentuates his manbreasts
  • Gone ‘R&B’ (but decent R&B)
  • Used a lot of soft focus

We don’t really get how the soft focus makes him all manly, but it looks pretty sweet. The album is called ‘Departure’ (and the single’s called Leavin - genius) and is out sometime in the future. It will probably be quite good. Again, in theory.

If only…

The Spice Girls Reunion? Naff.

Everything on the tour that wasn’t Headlines? Brilliant.

Headlines? Naff.

They made us wait 7 - 10 years (depending on how you class Forever) for a reunion and they came back with Headlines. The Spice Girls (loved by gays) were once known for their discopop anthems (also loved by gays), their fierceness (loved by gays) and their outrageous clothes (loved by gays). So for their reunion they came back with a weepy ballad and exposed breasts. Genius.

However, not all of it was a complete fiasco. There was some hope. And that hope came in the form of the unreleased version of the Headlines video. They didn’t want you to see it (except Victoria) but you deserve to see it. And enjoy every last second of it.

Marvel:

The writers’ strike: yay or nay?

Teacher’s were on strike yesterday. Despite having 13 weeks off a year WHICH THEY GET PAID FOR and only having to work 9 -3, they decided to strike. Job Centre staff were on strike as well, so that explains why Somerfield are missing 15% of their trolleys. Script writers in Americana were on strike as well a few weeks ago. We know that’s old news and everything but do we know the full impact yet?

Bad points:

  • After a semi iffy start (i.e. the first episode was a bit hmmm) Desperate Housewives has become just as amazing as the amazing third season. Gay Lee is evil. Gabby is perty. And now we only get 17ish episodes. BOO!
  • Lost is better than ever. Flashforwards = genius. And we have had to wait to see the rest of them. Not back till May 4th now. :(
  • Ugly Betty hasn’t been seen since Christmas. Come on! It’s practically criminal to go this long without an Amanda fix.
  • Pushing Daisies doesn’t get time to bloom. BA DUM DUM TSCH!

Good Points:

  • The iffy Heroes season gets cut short.

So it’s all swings and roundabouts.

Kyle ♥ Amanda

Meet Kyle - we know we’d love to! Kyle has something he wants to tell the world - he’s in love with Amanda Bynes, so much so he’s written a song dedicated to her. “Song For Amanda” even has it’s own website in which he asks for your help in getting Amanda’s attention using the Six Degrees Of Separation theory.

But wait! There’s more…. This foxy young Canadian has a voice that’s not too displeasing to the ear, in fact we’d go as far as to compare his vocal prowess and music to that of one Mr William Young - high praise indeed.

But back to the task in hand, Kyle *hearts* Amanda and is offering you the track for FREE - come on now, who can resist an offer like that? All he’s asking in return is that you share the video found on his website in the hope that Ms Bynes finally gets the message.

Britney’s Radar

Rumour has it, Britney’s next single from her ah-maz-ing album, Blackout, will be Radar. In light of this, shall we take a look at Britney’s radar? I think we should.

Look at that. Something has been picked up. Let’s investigate further. Binoculars at the ready.

Oh it’s a Russian Freighter. Isn’t that fancy? Hmmm…there seems to be some writing on the side.

What an odd name for a Freighter…?

It’s got a point though.

Pop with a penis

How many popstars have a penis (that we know of…)?

  • Will Young (but he’s a bit jazzy)
  • Darren Hayes (but he doesn’t dance much)
  • Justin Timberlake (He’s a bit hippity hoppy)
  • Westlife (No.)

Basically, not a lot. So here’s a new one - Luigi Masi. He’s a popman who does pop. Proper pop. Like so totally no way! If you like Myspace and all that jazz he has a few rather awesome songs on there. www.myspace.com/luigimasi

If you’re one of those annoying people who likes ‘things to go’ (sandwiches, sausage rolls etc) here’s a breakdown:

  • Perfect Criminal - A bit of a ‘thumper’
  • The Look - A bit Sugababery (first single, out in June)
  • Question Mark - A bit ‘Poppy side of Blackout’
  • Baby You Know - Weird. But amazing. OK?!

He supported the Sugababes a few weeks ago and he’ll be supporting Girls Aloud next month. Bit of a Girl Band ho, innhe?

(He’ll be doing the Pop Challenge thing as well. Ooooooh)

It’s September! Not April! But it is April! And this is September!

If you still pay attention to the UK charts (you probably don’t though…) you might have noticed somebody called September has popped up in the Top 10. If you’re not Swedish, this might have perplexed you slightly. If you are Swedish, you don’t care. You’ve had her around for years.

Basically September is a lovely girl called Petra singing lovely dance songs. But about 50 times better than Cascada. BONZA! She’s had three albums in her home of Sweden (yah) all of which are pop and dancetastic. But even though Cry For You is amazing and a bit of a clubby one, she had one called Satellites. Here it is:

It’s probably what Abba would sound like if they were still around now. And it’s amazing. Like Abba probably would be if they were still around now. It was her first UK single a few years back and did bog all. So now Cry For You has entertained a couple of thousand chavvy weirdos, she should rerelease this. No?

Bucks Fizzle Back!

Cheryl Baker and her band of Eurovision merrymakers are officially back!

They’ve made their minds up [ho ho ho] and signed on the dotted line to take part in a new reality TV series called “Bands That Go Pop” which follows/helps groups of yesteryear do whatever it takes to get back in the charts, whether it be dieting or plastic surgery to get back into shape and repair any crooked smiles as wells as procure a new hit single.

Shame Steps turned it down really….
